Alamgir Hossain — Consultant
Alamgir Hossain is a social researcher and development professional with over 10 years of experience in program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation in Bangladesh. He obtained a BSS (2014) and MSS (2015) in Anthropology from the University of Dhaka.
Since 2015, Mr. Hossain has been actively engaged in social research and development initiatives with marginalized communities, including waste pickers, street children, nomadic groups, urban poo,r and climate refugees. He has extensive expertise in designing data collection tools, conducting interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and Key informant interviews (KIIs), as well as data analysis and project management.
Mr. Hossain is also involved in the UN Intergovernmental Negotiation Committee (INC), contributing to the development of a global plastic treaty aimed at reducing plastic pollution and protecting the environment, including the marine ecosystem. Additionally, he is dedicated to promoting circular economy practices across the plastic life cycle and advocating for sustainable municipal solid waste management in Bangladesh.
